Cuts and Scratches
Cuts and scratches are wounds that are found on the skin. It is usually caused by an abrasion. All of us get cut or scratched at sometime. Today, we have a number of good alternatives to the regular antiseptic creams that are usually used to treat these wounds.
Home remedies for Cuts and Scratches
• Use Marigold (Calendula) oil to wash and clean the wounded area.
• Spread aloe vera gel to help cure small cuts. However, its use is not recommended for deep, surgical cuts.
• If you have a stubborn cut or a scratch that refuses to heal –try the following tip: Open a capsule of omega 3. The easiest way is to puncture it with a needle or scissors. Squeeze a small amount of the liquid and dab it over your cut three times a day. Grandmothers will say that “old fashioned fish oil is good enough” and if you yet managed to get the remedy, try using pure rose oil instead. Spread it a few times a day on the wound. This oil contains fatty acids and vitamin A that helps treat the wound.
• Apply a couple of drops of lavender oil on the infected area to help soothe the wound.
• Dab a cotton ball soaked in thyme tea for a fast skin recovery. Repeat this process three times a day.
• Apply a generous amount of honey in the area as it contains natural antibiotic that can help cure the wound.
• Prepare a garlic paste by crushing fresh cloves of garlic while adding a bit of water to it. Apply this paste on your cut twice a day and it will heal faster.
• Get some fresh Comfrey leaves and put this over your scratches once a day.
• Put a couple of drops of vitamin E oil. Rub it on your cut once a day.
