Ear Mites
Ear mites are tiny little pests that like to live inside your pet’s ears causing your pet to scratch his ears which can cause infections.
Ear mites are easily transferred from pet to pet, so you should handle ear mites ASAP if you have more than one pet.
Pet Remedies For Ear Mites
- In order to remove ear mites, clear any crust build up in your pet’s ear
- Mix ½ ounce of almond and vitamin E. Put a dropper or two in each ear and massage it well (You can also use mineral or baby oil). Let your pet shake its head and clean out the opening with cotton swabs. The oily mixture smothers the mites and helps healing. Refrigerate the mixture between uses, warming it before use.
- The oil will not completely remove the ear mites at first, eventually after doing it for a few weeks the newly born mites coming out of the eggs will die before they are old enough to produce eggs and additional mites.
- In order to relieve the itching, you can try garlic and olive oil. Crush some garlic cloves and put them in olive oil leaving it to soak overnight. Remove the garlic and heat the oil until it’s warm, follow the same procedure with olive oil as with the mineral or baby oil treatment.
